URS BAUR’s professional pursuits have led him from Zurich, Switzerland, to Milan, Italy, New York, and Los Angeles. From Madison Avenue to Silicon Beach. From building brands to advocating for causes.

Fluent in English, German, Italian and French. Urs is a highly experienced and entrepreneurial creative professional. He has a track record of guiding award-winning communications initiatives for global brands such as Volkswagen, Singapore Airlines, Nikon, and Stonyfield Organics. The last decade has seen him create cross-platform branding for numerous start-ups and projects in energy, wellness, sustainability, culture and emerging technologies. His work reflects a lifelong passion for advancing a more equitable, ethical, and sustainable way of doing business.

2019-CURRENT CTLST* MEDIA, Los Angeles CA – Founder, CCO
Created communications and launch materials. Produced and designed print publication. Created and hosted livestream shows and podcasts. Responsible for video content, pitch decks, social media content and managing client relations and the outreach and forging of alliances with groups and organizations in the social impact space.

2004 – PRESENT TOPANGA FILM FESTIVAL & INSTITUTE Co-Founder, Creative Director
Created and managed successful 501[c]3 non-profit organization providing platform for annual film festival (15+ years) Established Institute and collaborative workspace and innovation lab inviting attracting leading talent of the film, media and technology worlds to showcase work, conduct workshops and provide mentorship to emerging talent. Grew network of partner organizations, sponsors and International collaborators

2017 - 2018 HYDRO STUDIOS, Santa Monica CA – Creative Director
Developed brand strategy and communication / pitch materials for brands including,
Stonyfield Organics, Princess Cruises, Desert Aids Project (D.A.P.), Layrite, Twinings, USTA, USGA
Developed communications materials for Film and Entertainment projects including documentary feature HEAL, DAY ONE, Requiem For A Running Back, plus shows partnering with TechCrunch, Celebrity Chef Hannah Grant and other original content.

2016-2017 CARLABS.ai, Calabasas CA – Creative Director
Guided branding and designed and implemented communications initiatives for start-up AI company in the automotive industry. Worked closely with founders, creating Identity, presentations, product development and UI for their proprietary conversational commerce platform.

2013 - 2016 ENERGIZING CO. Los Angeles CA & Toronto CANADA– Co-Founder, Strategic Communications
Developed brand strategy and communication materials for energy infrastructure development company, supporting formation of project financing platform. Created and executed innovative community engagement strategy for city of 75,000. Grew company and established strategic partner networks.

2009 –2013 BAURHOUSE, Topanga CA – President and Founder
Led successful creative consultancy in the Cleantech and Sustainability space. Oversaw re-branding and community engagement initiatives for Solar PV development company with in projects in Canada. Created communications strategy and materials for successful introduction of global clothing recycling company I:CO to the U.S. market leading to contracts H&M, Levi’s, North Face, Puma, Forever 21 and Adidas.

2001 – 2009 HAMON & ASSOC., Santa Monica CA – PARTNER, CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Responsible for all aspects of creative product of independently owned, full-service advertising agency with over $250M in billings. Grew company from 8 to 50employees. Managed teams creating print, TV and digital campaigns for Singapore Airlines, B/S/H, Logitech Thermador and Hyundai

RED SKY INTERACTIVE, Los Angeles CA – CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Managed integration of White Noise into leading Interactive agency with 7 locations and over $300M in combined billings. Oversaw teams developing and deploying integrated interactive and applied entertainment strategies for Sony, Nikon, Texaco and HomeStore.com
