HARNESSING AI – OR THE RADICAL TRANSFORMATION OF THE CREATIVE PROCESS

AI blows my mind. I’m equal parts thrilled and terrified at the speed of innovation disrupting and transforming many aspects of my creative process. To that end, I have recently been engaged by JTD ARCHITECTS, in Topanga CA, for whom I oversee the implementation of AI into the firm’s workflow. My primary focus has been utilizing AI for conceptual visualizations of buildings and structures. By experimenting and better understanding the power and limitations of the various AI platforms, we have been exploring fundamentally new processes, utilizing AI as a potent tool in creating and interpreting renderings and generating iterations in real time. Additionally, I’m leading the team in the development of custom GPTs. One of which is a ‘building code GPT’ that autonomously searches and summarizes relevant local building codes with great accuracy. Through extensive training, we are empowering this AI model to perform actual plan checks, reducing manual effort and optimizing efficiency.
